Queen of Denmark Celebrates; Tiaras Abound

Yes, I am aware that Margrethe of Denmark celebrated her 40th year as Queen with a Ruby Jubilee  gala at the Christiansborg palace about four months ago. But the display of tiaras was staggering. Let’s revisit! The guests flaunted their best baubles in honor of the woman some consider “the most intellectual monarch in Europe”. (Margrethe attended five universities, including Cambridge.) She was dressed in the full regalia of a member of the Danish Royal House, topped off with the iconic diamond-and-pearl Orange-Nassau Tiara. Congratulatoins, your majesty.

Her daughter-in-law, Crown Princess Mary is wearing the parure that once belonged to the first Bernadotte queen. I think they suit her nicely!
