I have a weakness for matryoshka dolls.
pictured here is the original set of the Russian nesting dolls, made in 1892. The dolls were a collaboration: carved by Vasily Zvezdochkin and painted by Seregi Malyutin. These eight ladies snagged the bronze medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle.
