This post was initially another “Best in Marie Antoinette Shopping” in honor of cyber Monday until I found this delightful montage of Queen Elizabeth in a magazine.
These are all the outfits she’s rocked in her jubilee year, thus far, but all I could think was, egads! she reminds me of a box of Ladurée macaroons! So yeah. That tied in nicely.
Yes, whether you’ve been fortunate enough to taste them or have only gazed upon their seraphim shading, there’s something for which to be thankful. (No, my holiday menu did not include these legendary macaroons and petit fours.) SIDE NOTE! You do not need to travel to Paris to get your hands on these colorful treats. There is a Ladurée patisseries in NYC on Madison avenue but thankfully you can also order them! Won’t a ROY G BIV of macaroons makes a lovely holiday gift? You can call their flagship New York Store at (646) 558-3157 or for you non-US denizens contact the source in Paris at 01 53 75 33 93 (that includes the dial-out prefix and code) or email directly at espacecommercial@laduree.com.
Alright, that’s enough cyber-Monday malarkey for today. Besides, THAT was an unpaid endorsement. You’re welcome Ladurée…

Oh lucky you! Although I quite like the macarons from TWG in Vancouver (they’re shipped from Singapore). I’ve never tried La Duree but I think TWG’s is supposed to be the closest thing to LD’s. 😛

well, if it’s the lottery you’re winning, will you be jetting off to Paris to enjoy the originals?

I didn’t win our company’s 50/50. 😦 If I were to win the national lottery, I’d MOVE back to Europe – and try La Duree’s macarons in Paris, of course. 😉
