Well this is like the demi-parure of peer-nominated blog awards! I’ve been twice nominated for the Blog of the Year 2012 by both JG Burdette and Sammiwitch thus garnering me one third of the stars required as the Blog of the Year 2012, does not quite function as the other peer-nominated awards do.
Rules:
(i) Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award; (ii) Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award; (iii) Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!); (iv) Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them; (v) You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience; (vi) As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar and start collecting stars.
So, for every nomination you get 1 star. I lucked out I guess! Thank you, again to JG and Sammiwitch, I drop you my deepest curtsey!

somebody hand la dauphine her envelope…
okay…here we go. (I’m so psyched that I don’t have to come up with “Seven Interesting Things About Me.”) Here’s my caveat…since I received each star in a different posting, I am distributing them separately. Therefore I’m giving 1 star out to three from my award given by Sammiwitch and 1 star out to three people from my award given by JG. (I think that’s judicious, right?)
And there you have them folks! Six of the blogs I feel are “of the Year 2012”. Not all of them may participate in the game, but I certainly hope they will. It’s like a game of wall-ball on the last day of school before winter break when the whole class is hopped up on candy canes!
Get ready, I’ll be comin’ up with more reading recommendations soon, when my other stars come in! (Fingers crossed!)
Wow you got that post together much quicker then I would have.
Congratulations on your well-deserved awards. Also I like the new look of your blog.

Thanks for noticing the overhaul! I’ve been meaning to retool it for a while…haven’t quite hit on the desired background yet…or header. I’m also tempted to change the name…do you think it sounds too much like “Toddlers & Tiaras?” (That vomitus reality show?) Be honest…

To tell the truth I hadn’t heard about the show, but now that you bring it up “Tiaras and Trianon” does sound somewhat like that. But it would be a shame to change your blog name/domain now, you’ve got sitelinks and everything! I’m very jealous. You’ve got to admit though, “Tiaras and Trianon” is fitting.
I’ve also been tempted to change my blog name to something more fitting. “Map of Time”? I don’t really involve maps in the posts so it doesn’t fit the blog content too well.

I always thought of it as a metaphor, the map that is…I guess the point of the blog title is that it has a “ring” to it. I toyed with calling mine “Agriette” as it’s the only tiara-esque thing we’ve ever seen m@ wear in the paintings. Then I figured nobody would remember it or remember the spelling or have a clue what it means. Maybe I don’t have enough faith in humanity!

wait a sec…backup. I have site links? (what are those & why are they jealousy-inducing? *Don’t laugh!*
I’m jealous of your blog…at least people comment on yours!

If you go and google “Tiaras and Trianon” your blog comes up and under it are a list of links with short summaries. Those are the sitelinks. On the other hand if you google “Map of Time” (at present) you don’t come to the blog until the fifth google page. And there are no sitelinks. It seems you can lose the sitelinks too. A blog called “Ships on the Shore” used to have them and now it doesn’t.
Oh yes, love love love the comments!

…accidentally hitting ‘send’ apparently. Oops…
I am such a whore for Toile! Alas, another blogger with impeccable taste has a toile background, thus my mind must scheme something else…and a new header. (always a work in progress…)
I think I shall celebrate by hitting the Laduree shop on Madison…and co-ordinating my macaroon purchases with my outfit. Who says I can’t accessorize? 😉
