Video: 1935 Royal Wedding in Denmark

A little video fun never killed anyone, now did it? Here’s a quick newsreel to accompany that Royal Family photo from last week. The May 1935 union betwixt (then-Crown Prince) Frederick IX of Denmark and Iceland and Ingrid, daughter of King Gustavus VI of Sweden seems extra-romantic in the flickering grainy black-and-white of nostalgia, doesn’t it?

So cute you could pinch ’em, right? (Are you allowed to pinch royalty?)

The choice of music was a little eerie–the Ride of the Valkyries. The sound of war in the distance.
