Happy Tiaras-giving

your Blog Hostess is an excellent cook but not too dexterous with knives. Yes, those are three Hello Kitty brand Band-aids.
If we know anything it’s this: a long holiday weekend means your Blog Hostess won’t be around. Let’s face it, even on a good week I’m not exactly a Swiss watch. just because I’m not around doesn’t mean my sweet readers should suffer! Instead, let them (you) be vocal…and eat cake–or pie I guess. *sigh* that just didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. So we’ll do our best to keep you entertained. We might be leaving town, I might be preparing for out-of-town guests…We don’t know much about me, save that I’m here to fill your diadem fix.
Doing it tchotchke way
In order to guide you in your tiara selection, we’ll be revisiting one of my favorite theme weeks: Amethysts Ahoy! (It was in honor of my birthday week. February 19th! Yeeeaaah! and I refuse to pronounce the ‘r!’ Take that society…
So with elusive elegance I basically told you that, much like cartoon reruns in the summer or a radio station trying to avoid dead air, We’ll be running ‘the best of amethysts ahoy’ during the holiday. The good news is twofold (1) many of you are new comers so its new to you or (2) if you’ve got a paper-bag-full-of-water type memory like me, it’ll be a fun refresher!
Oh and there’s a poll.
So while you watch that deep violet cranberry sauce that comes out in the shape of the can quiver on its side by candlelight, think about its almost-amethyst color and ponder tiaras. [There’s always time to think about a diadem or two.] Now you’re ready to vote!

my comment got erased! I voted for the landberg one. tiaras in my country lack the gravitas and tradition of the European varieties. they are usually are worn by someone like this:

I just adore Queen Mary’s parure as well! Apparently most people did! It was the “winning tiara.”

We agree…the Norwegian Necklace tiara is one of our personal favorites too! Thanks for commenting, especially since tiaras aren’t your bag. Would you say you’re more of a hat gal?
